What's Your Excuse?

School started, after school activities are in full swing, sports practices light up the fields until past dinner time and we are all trying to get into a routine again.  Most of us go full speed ahead when school starts.  Our next break doesn't come for a few months now!

When the school year comes, exercise is one of the first things we put on the back burner.  An extra hour a day is a necessity now, so we tend to find it as one of the least important things on our schedules.  We start to make excuses.

What happens to our motivation?  Why is it less important than everything else on our calendar?

I read this quote today and it immediately made me realize that exercise and eating should be high on our priority list.  Starting our day with a work out will provide so much more energy for our busy day.  Eating healthy throughout the day will continue giving us energy.  These daily habits keeps us healthy for our kids and spouses. Without our health, we cannot do the things we do.

We have to look at exercise and healthy eating just as important and stop making excuses.

I think about the kids we are running around in fourty different directions.  Our kids are important to us and what they want is important to us.  So we do what it takes to get them in the program of their choice or drive them to their third soccer game of the weekend.  Why?  Because its important to us.

We find a way to fit parties, games, tutor sessions, piano lessons, football games and band concerts in our schedule (and a quick little latte, at Starbucks, with a close friend). Let's find a way to keep being healthy in there too!!!
